Seth Fisher Passed Away

Seth Fisher

Comic Book Resources reported that artist Seth Fisher passed away. Fisher was a comic artist and designer, who has done work for Marvel, DC Comics, and was a concept designer for the game, Myst III.

His website, www.floweringnose.com displays Fisher’s innovation and creativity, including designing his own pinball machine and his own RPG, The Flowering Nose in Slugland.

Fisher was nominated for an Eisner Award as Best Penciler/Inker for his work on Flash: Time Flies and Vertigo Pop: Tokyo. He also worked on Green Lantern: Willworld (his first hardcover graphic novel) and Fantastic Four/Iron Man: Big in Japan.

Artist J.H. Williams III announced his passing with these words posted on Barbelith Ubderground:

“i just received some very saddening news this evening. my friend seth fisher has died,” said Williams. “he was a great artist and i had the pleasure of calling him my friend. i also had the pleasure of working with him. he had such a great outlook to life and was always willing to think of things from another perspective. his work is some of most unique i have seen.”

This week, Fantastic Four/Iron Man: Big in Japan #4, the final issue of the mini series was released. Fisher was the penciller and inker.

Seth Fisher’s death has shaken the art & design and comics community. We extend our condolences to his family and loved ones and may he rest in peace.
