Interactive Metal Gear Solid Comic for PSP

Konami unveiled Hideo Kojima’s non-game project to be a digital comic book for PSP.

Announced in San Francisco at the 2006 Konami Gamers Day, tentatively titled Metal Gear Solid Digital Comic will be an all new adventure written by Kojima and franchise producer Noriaki Okamura. Illustrator Ashley Wood, who illustrated the Metal Gear Solid comic for IDW Publishing and is currently working on the sequel, Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty. Ashley Wood has also worked with Konami in the past, providing character designs and illustrations for Contra: Shattered Soldier.

Ryan Payton, the international manager of Kojima Productions promises the Metal Gear Solid Digital Comic will be more than just reading a scanned comic. He said ” “It provides an involved interactive experience as players must investigate the MGS story, link together plot points, and complete the puzzle of the Metal Gear narrative through multiple play throughs.”

A trailer revealed MGS Digital Comic will have speech bubbles as well as sound effect fonts, like “BANG” and “POW”. GameSpot has uploaded some screenshots, which you can find through the link below.

There is currently no release date.
